The one-night-only concert is augmented by a special “Dinner with the Artists” fundraiser in the Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater (at the Wilsey Center) and is co-chaired by SFO board members Anna Fieler, Sue Marineau and Jason Phillips. On Friday, June 16, conductors Eun Sun Kim, Sir Donald Runnicles, and Patrick Summers lead a cavalcade of beloved San Francisco Opera stars in a dazzling centennial concert that spans the company’s history. Mattila wowed SF Opera fans with her dynamic performances in 2010 as Emilia Marty in “The Makroupolus Affair” and in 2018 as Sieglinde in Wagner’s “Ring.” Image: SF Opera Finnish Soprano Karita Mattila, known for her unique mastery of Leoš Janaček’s music, will sing “Co chvila” from Jenůfa with Donald Runnicles conducting the SF Opera Orchestra on Friday.
